“I love working at GDC because of the exceptional team of attorneys that work tirelessly to provide outstanding representation and unrivaled customer service to all clients.”

Mrs. Alvarez is the Managing Partner of Goede, DeBoest & Cross, PLLC’s Coral Gables office, where she leads the firm’s South Florida strategy and operations. She also chairs the firm’s Banking Law Department. Her practice spans three core areas: banking and secured transactions, land use and zoning, and community association law, with a litigation background that informs her commitment to precise, principled advocacy on behalf of her clients.

As Chair of the firm’s Banking Law Department, Mrs. Alvarez serves as outside counsel to major financial institutions on complex lending transactions, conducting corporate due diligence, drafting and negotiating loan documents and security instruments, and ensuring proper perfection and priority of collateral positions. In her land use practice, she represents property owners in zoning, entitlements, development agreements, and local government regulatory matters, and regularly appears in quasi-judicial proceedings and administrative hearings on their behalf. Mrs. Alvarez also serves as general counsel to condominium, cooperative, and homeowners’ associations throughout Florida, advising boards on governance, statutory compliance, covenant enforcement, financial operations, vendor contract negotiations, and representing associations in contested proceedings when disputes arise.
Mrs. Alvarez maintains an active litigation practice, overseeing and handling complex disputes across her areas of focus. She built her litigation foundation at a large Florida law firm, where she represented both private clients and public entities in complex business litigation, eminent domain and condemnation proceedings, procurement bid protests and appeals, and administrative and regulatory matters. She subsequently managed a high-volume civil litigation docket, directing motion practice, discovery strategy, and case positioning across dozens of simultaneous matters in Florida circuit courts. That experience, grounded in close attention to the record, governing authority, and procedural posture, continues to shape how she approaches every matter in her practice today.
Mrs. Alvarez’s commitment to public service began early in her career. She served as a Florida Gubernatorial Fellow at the Florida Department of Transportation, an experience that culminated in the Governor Jeb Bush Award for Outstanding Achievement for her policy proposal, “Funding Florida’s Future.” She has also worked in both the United States Senate and the Florida House of Representatives, and served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Amanda Arnold Sansone of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Mrs. Alvarez earned her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Florida, where she served as President of Florida Blue Key, was inducted into the UF Hall of Fame, and was named the University of Florida Alumni Association’s Outstanding Student Leader. She is a frequent speaker and educator, teaching continuing education and board certification courses for association board members, and authoring monthly legal columns for Miami’s Community Newspapers, Treasure Coast Newspapers, and Naples Daily News.
