Benjamin Thomas

Mr. Benjamin D. Thomas is an attorney in the Firm’s civil litigation department. He represents clients in all aspects of litigation including construction defect litigation, complex commercial litigation, personal injury, and business disputes. Mr. Thomas began at the Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office in Kentucky with a student license working on felony criminal cases. Following this, Mr. Thomas served as a U.S. Army JAG officer stationed in Europe for back-to-back assignments. 

Mr. Thomas’s first assignment was to Belgium at the Supreme Allied Headquarters Europe where he served as counsel for individual members of the Armed Forces and additionally collaborated with NATO allies on a wide variety of legal matters such as taxes, torts, international law, and administrative law. 

Mr. Thomas’s next assignment was to Kaiserslautern Germany where he represented the U.S. government in criminal trials focusing on violent crimes and crimes against children. Mr. Thomas also represented the U.S. government in administrative hearings before boards of inquiry concerning lesser misconduct.

Mr. Thomas has extensive experience in litigation, international relations, and the inner workings of government agencies. As a result of having previously been a government trial attorney, Mr. Thomas is keenly aware of process and procedure in court proceedings. Mr. Thomas believes in transparency and clear, timely communication throughout the entire litigation process. 

Mr. Thomas considers his greatest professional accomplishment to be serving the United States overseas as an officer of the US Army; securing convictions against service members who abused children.
