Kristie Mace

Mrs. Kristie P. Mace focuses her practice on all aspects of community association law providing comprehensive and practical legal counsel to condominium associations, homeowners’ associations, and cooperate associations. She has extensive experience drafting, reviewing, and amending governing documents, including Declarations, Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation, Architectural Review Guidelines, and Rules and Regulations, ensuring compliance with applicable statutes while addressing the operational needs of her clients.

In her role as counsel to community associations, Mrs. Mace works closely with boards of directors and property managers on a wide range of governance issues. Her practice includes advising on statutory and documentary interpretation, covenant enforcement, architectural review matters, budgeting and financial issues, and the negotiation and review of vendor contracts. 

Mrs. Mace leads and manages the firm’s association collections practice, overseeing all aspects of collection matters, including delinquent assessments and timeshare collections (judicial and non-judicial), and regularly advising associations on creditor rights and strategies in mortgage foreclosures and bankruptcy proceedings. 

Mrs. Mace is also experienced in handling Fair Housing claims, assisting associations in responding to administrative complaints and agency investigations, evaluating and advising on reasonable accommodation and modification requests, and ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws. She works closely with boards and property managers to develop policies and procedures that minimize risk, promote consistency in decision-making and proactively address potential Fair Housing concerns.

Known for her highly responsive and solutions-oriented approach, Mrs. Mace is committed to delivering timely, practical advice tailored to each client’s specific needs. She has a strong inclination toward resolving disputes efficiently and cost-effectively and frequently works to achieve favorable outcomes through negotiation and mediation before litigation becomes necessary. In furtherance of this commitment, she has also provided pro bono mediation services to indigent individuals, facilitating the resolution of disputes outside of the courtroom.

A highlight of Mrs. Mace’s practice is her successful representation of a client in a covenant enforcement dispute before Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal, where she obtained a favorable ruling following oral argument.
