With more than 16 years of litigation experience, Ms. Erin Ward is a seasoned advocate known for strategic thinking, meticulous case preparation, and a deep understanding of Florida insurance and property law. Her practice centers on first-party property litigation, where she brings a uniquely balanced perspective by representing both insurance carriers and policyholders.
Ms. Ward currently serves as defense counsel for Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, handling complex coverage disputes, appraisal issues, late-notice defenses, and cases involving alleged wind, water, and hurricane-related losses. Her work includes representing Citizens in Florida’s Circuit Courts, managing high-exposure claims, and navigating the evolving statutory framework governing property insurance litigation.
In addition to her defense practice, Ms. Ward also represents homeowners, commercial property owners, and condominium associations in disputes against their own insurance companies. Her policyholder work spans claim denials, underpayment disputes, loss-valuation issues, and bad-faith claims. By understanding the strategies and expectations of insurers, she effectively positions her clients for strong results—whether through negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, or trial.
Beyond property insurance litigation, Ms. Ward maintains a selective personal injury practice, representing individuals injured through the negligence of others. Her experience includes premises liability, auto negligence, and general negligence claims.
Before focusing her career on insurance litigation, Ms. Ward practiced real estate law, advising clients on residential and commercial transactions, including foreclosures, title issues, and property-related disputes. This background gives her an additional layer of insight into property valuation, ownership rights, and the practical realities faced by property owners involved in coverage disputes.
Ms. Ward is dedicated to providing responsive, thorough, and practical legal counsel. Her broad litigation background and industry knowledge allow her to guide clients through every stage of a dispute—from pre-suit investigations to trial—with confidence and clarity.
